Storyline:
Nightwing woke up from the induced coma he'd been in for three weeks after being injured in Final Crisis. Barbara gave him a milk shake and they thought back on their first date. They ended up being saved by Batman from Crazy Quilt.
As time progressed, Barbara began getting Dick back in shape and helping him regain his motor skills. She continued to avoid conversation about their engagement.
Barbara admitted she'd faked being asleep when Robin poured his heart out to her. When she felt the time was right, she went to him, but Starfire opened his door and she left crying. Dick was on Tamaran with the Titans when Barbara had been shot. Six months later, when he found out about her, he brought flowers and consoled her. They ended up sleeping together. In the morning, he told her he was marrying Starfire.
After several weeks, Batman spoke with Nightwing. He, as Bruce, asked him go on a family retreat with him and Tim. Barbara pushed him toward it, knowing he needed time. Dick left with Bruce and Tim, but left the ring with Barbara promising to return to her.

Storyline:
Nightwing broke up a kidnapping attempt with some thugs in coordinated outfits and helmets. A sniper fired on them and one fo the kidnappers was hit. His boss's lawyer fed poison into his IV, but the man was later accosted in his hospital room by an unseen party. A note to his boss was left attached to his body.
Nightwing later investigated the scene / hospital room, and found nothing - no prints, no evidence. A sniper shot at him again. Outside, he found more of the coordinated attackers. He followed one back and found the woman who'd been kidnapped - Liu, a former love interest of Dick Grayson's. He set the woman free and disappeared.
A week later, Liu met Dick at the gym where he worked. They went for a walk and attended a party together. Vigilante watched as they left together. Liu was his mark.

Storyline:
While spying on Eddie and Liu, Nightwing thought back on his earlier days - Robin was felt that Batman was too controlling and he ended their partnership. He got caught up in a scheme under a man calling himself Metal Eddie.
Nightwing caught a quick glimpse of Vigilante aiming into Eddie's window. He jumped and scuffled with the new Vigilante, but he let him go when innocents were placed in danger. Nightwing went to JJ, who'd supplied weapons to the original Vigilante, but he only found a note.
Dick had dinner with Eddie and Liu. He forgave the man for what he'd done. Afterwards, he check on a coworker and found her boyfriend attacking her because she was breaking up with him. Dick stopped the man and had her call the police. Back at his own apartment, Vigilante was waiting - he wanted to know the relationship he had with Eddie and Liu.

Storyline:
Vigilante interrogated Grayson. After over two days, he'd still not given in completely. Dick played it just well enough to be believed - he had quit Eddie's "Tigers" when he realized they were just using him to get an 'in' to steal Bruce Wayne dry. What went untold was Robin was there to stop them, backed by Batman. The two mended their relationship.

Storyline:
Nightwing tracked clues to Belgium, where he was attacked in one of Eddie's places by the Tigers - Eddie's group that had been targeting him of late. He had what he needed and split.
Back in New York, Eddie and Liu hit the Dark Side bar. They killed the bartender and two patrons for some sort of DNA testing. Dick went out with Liu again, but turned down her invitation to go back to her place. He was attacked by the Tigers on the way home. Vigilante came in to aid him - he knew Grayson was Nightwing.
Vigilante got news that Eddie and Liu were in Wayne Medical.

Storyline:
Nightwing and Vigilante arrived at Wayne Medical and went after Eddie and Liu. Vigilante realized Nightwing couldn't fight Liu. He hit her in the neck with a knife. Eddie escaped with the DNA he was testing while Nightwing got Liu to a hospital. Vigilante followed hoping to get answers from her.
Using what Vigilante knew, Nightwing realized they were dosing the Tigers with "powered" DNA.
Eddies people got Liu back once she stabilized. They cleaned out their operation and left town. Vigilante suckerpunched Nightwing and fled.
